Početkom rujna Google je predstavio novu uslugu pod nazivom Google Instant koja predviđa koji pojam želite tražiti tek unosom prvih nekoliko slova. Međutim, otkriveno je kako sustav ograničava automatsku pretragu određenih kategorija koje mogu biti povezane s pornografijom, nasiljem i govorom mržnje te u istu svrstava riječi poput 'biseksualnost' ili 'lezbijka' dok su riječi poput 'gay', 'queer', 'dyke' i druge dostupne za automatsku pretragu, piše queer.hr.

Računala nisu u stanju provoditi finu značenjsku diskriminaciju između riječi kao ljudi.
Očito se filtriranje nepoželjnih pojmova provodi s obzirom na kontekst u kojem se dati pojam najčešće nalazi.
Dakle, polazi se od okoline u kojoj se riječ uglavnom upotrebljava, a ne od osnovnog značenja koje nosi kada stoji samostalno.
Google: "We've received some questions about why typing [lesbian] into the search box does not instantly show results. This is a bug and we are working to see if we can fix it. In the meantime, these results are available but require you to hit Enter. If the results for a particular query seem pornographic, our algorithms may remove that query from autocomplete even if the query itself wouldn't otherwise violate our policies. This system is neither perfect nor instantaneous, and we will continue to work to make it better."
